  Dive Details:  Please arrive no later than 8 am to unload your car, park, and board the boat for an 8:30 am departure

  2 tank boat dive on a two Reefs (Average depths 115 ft. / 40 ft.). 

  Gear needs: If you require tanks or other gear contact boat to reserve, these fees are paid directly to boat.

  Trip Cost: $90.00 - You have payment options, though we prefer that you use Zelle if it is available to you.

  1) If your financial institution allows you to send money using Zelle, you can send your payment to Treasurer@usadiveclub.org. Just be sure to say what the payment is for in the memo.

  2) You could set up USA Dive Club as a payee in your bank's payment system and have your bank send payments. Then you don't have to keep writing and mailing checks.

  3) Or, if you are still writing checks, you can make out a personal check to "USA Dive Club" and mail it to Ronnie Farr, our club Treasurer. Or you can bring your check to a meeting and hand it to the event organizer. 

  Boat Requirement:  All divers need a Signal Sausage, Dive Computer or other Timing Device.

   Bahamas - Riding Rock, San Salvador:

  May 9-16, 2026 – 7 nights - DEMA Special

  
  

  Join us for the best wall diving in the Caribbean!!  100-150 ft. visibility makes for fabulous wide-angle scenery on walls starting at 30 ft with sheer drop offs to ledges around 250 ft and then down to the abyss.  Hammerhead sharks, manta rays, lazy turtles and huge friendly Nassau grouper are just some of the creatures noted in my log book from our 2004 visit to this most eastern Bahamian island.  This will be our 4^th club trip to Riding Rock Inn (prior: 1989, 2004 & 2008) and I would not want to miss Steve McCutcheon’s favorite high intensity destination.  We hope there are still hammerheads left – but they could be deeper than allowed on Nitrox.

  The island of San Salvador is located 385 miles southeast of here in the Bahamas.  It is 12 miles long by 5 miles wide and is the exposed peak of a submerged mountain plunging 15,000 feet to the sea floor.  With less than 1000 inhabitants, the white sandy beaches are almost as deserted as the day Christopher Columbus first landed  here and discovered the New World. The resort is a laid-back place for serious divers who have plastered the Driftwood Lounge with autographed items.  There are bicycles and golf carts available.  Fishing excursions can be arranged.

  Good buffet meals offer choices of meat and fish cook American and Bahamian style and include coffee, tea, juice.  A welcome Rum Punch is the introduction to happy hour at the bar. An island tour to the lighthouse and Columbus monument, can be arranged. We will be traveling on a Bahamas Air charter flight. All rooms are upgraded since our last visit. The rooms all have both Ocean and Pool View; all rooms have A/C, refrigerators, TV and balconies.  Just past the large pool and patio area are the docks and dive shop area. Two dives in the morning and 1 after lunch are done on the comfortable 42 ft boats which have nice dive platforms and ladders, good camera storage and plenty of sheltered space plus a sun deck above.  The dive staff bring your gear to the boat where it stays all week; they clean it and bring it back to your room at the end of the week.  They change tanks for you and offer help with everything.  The operation is very experienced and professional and offers all safety equipment including a chamber on the island.  All divers must use computers, rentals are available.

  Upscale:  Golden Rock Nature Resort and Diving

  We are staying at the new and upscale nature resort. Think about this as scuba diving in the morning and a nature resort stay in the afternoon. This is one of the best destinations in years if you are bringing a non-diving companion.

  Important: You must buy your own airfare to St Kitts (SKB) – the earlier the better – the signup deposit is kept low to not stress your funds. American Airlines has a flight from MIA

  Statia, as the island is popularly called offers divers an unparalleled yet pocket-sized perception.  Ancient shipwrecks, pristine coral reefs, and an amazing assortment of fish and turtles.

  The entire range of attractions lies between 40 and 130 feet below sea level.  Even at this depth, visibility is typically 80 to 100 feet.  The constant sea temperature averaging 82 degrees and sunny climate help to make diving in every season especially pleasant.  Wearing a thin wetsuit or shorty is generally enough. 

  Since St Eustatius (Statia) is a tropical island in the Caribbean Sea, it is no surprise that the enticing warm waters provide excellent opportunities for water sports, such as diving, boating, and fishing. In fact, the entire island is surrounded by a marine park, which stretches from water level to 100ft below the surface, all packed with an amazing abundance of aquatic life.

  The island is also a haven for nature enthusiasts. It is easy to get around the eight-square-mile land area of St Eustatius, and many people take the opportunity to go hiking when here. The undisturbed interior offers excellent birding, and there are many well-marked paths that are lovingly maintained by the St Eustatius National Parks Foundation. Our hotel is located right in the middle of this

  St Eustatius is also a premier spot for hiking, due in part to the 2,000ft dormant volcano, known as the Quill. The Quill is a mountainous rainforest with a volcano summit. The Boven National Park is also famed for its stunning views of nearby St Maarten Island, about 68 miles to the North. The crater of the Quill provides excellent birding opportunities, with rare species such as the Red Necked Pigeon and the Purple Throated Carib (hummingbird) regularly spotted.

  This trip will only hold 16 people.
