Happy Thanksgiving From The Hospitality Hut,

Well, it's that time again.  We are all preparing for the upcoming Holiday Season. Fall is in the air and kids will be knocking for Trick or Treats!

We had 2 first time guests attend the October general meeting.  First Simon Prout joined for Happy Hour then the meeting. Simon was certified in "the ocean" back in 1990.  He has logged over 1000 dives.  Simon enjoys sightseeing on walls and spotting a losbster or two.

Sally Craig, friend of Kim W attended as well. Sally has around 55 dives since being certified in 2005 as an open water diver. She enjoys fish watching especially in Bonaire.

It's always nice to see old friends join a meeting.  "Lindy" L, a former member, and his brother Jerry enjoyed catching up with club members and recalling memories from past years.

It's always a treat to see family members attend a meeting of our club. That is what happened at the September general meeting.

Robert Jacobs, son of member Jeff,  attended his first meeting. Bob is not a diver and has recently relocated here from Orlando. Hopefully he will catch the bug, so to speak, and decide to take the plunge and get certified.

Greetings From The Hospitality Hut,

At the August general meeting of the USA Dive Club, I am happy to announce there were two first-time guests in attendance.

Mac Malik found us on the Internet.  He was certified in 2013 in Belize.  Mac has logged 55 dives while sightseeing and taking pictures. He is a Rescue diver and currently a Dive Master in training.

Next, I introduced Shane Cutler who also found us on the Internet. Shane completed his Advanced Open Water certification in 2013 in the chilly waters of San Diego and has logged 600 dives. He enjoys beach dives and likes to lobster and collect shells and fish.

Summer is surely heating up and our afternoon thunderstorms are heating up as well. If you are working or playing outside, please stay hydrated. 

As there was no meeting in July, it will be nice to see USA members at the August meeting.  

I am hoping to greet guests at our new and very comfortable ELKS Lodge. While catching up with friends, you can easily order food and beverages at the beautiful bar and dining area.

I am happy to report we had five guests attend the June general meeting.

Gabby Crisanto, daughter of member Sarah, attended her first meeting.  It's always nice to see the little ones.

Returning guest Bill Moskos submitted his membership application as did former member Marc Cohen. Former member Mike Bothwell joined us and brought Jose Suarez as his guest.

Well, the heat is on as we enter the Dog Days of Summer.

The USA Dive Club had a very successful first meeting at our new location. The Elks Lodge #1898 is a fabulous venue. Great food and drinks were purchased at the bar. The dining room is large and accommodates us all.

I was happy to introduce Bill Moskos, a first-time guest to the members. He has been diving since 2002 and has logged around 250 dives. Bill enjoys South Pacific diving and sightseeing during his dives.

As you know by now, we have a new meeting place.  On May 1st, the USA Dive Club will begin to hold its' monthly meetings at the Elks Lodge #1898 located in Pompano Beach.  Looking forward to seeing you there.

At the April general meeting, I was happy to introduce the aunt of our speaker. Kathy Sanchez accompanied Aaron who  presented a very interesting program.  Kathy is not a diver.  She lives in White Plains, NY. Kathy was so impressed with our group, she has asked to be added to our email list where she can keep up with our activities.

Greetings From The Hospitality Hut,

We had a very informative meeting in March.  We learned new and surprising characteristics of the sea cucumber.

Unfortunately, I have no guests to report.  Hopefully, in the upcoming months, that will change.

In the meantime, keep enjoying our monthly meetings and keeping up with our old and new friends.  

The weather has been beautiful and with our extra hours of daylight, we are able to enjoy even more of what living in Florida has to offer.

March, the Green month is here! Hope you all have a Happy Saint Patrick's Day. I always enjoyed making the kids Green Eggs, thanks to Doctor Suess, to celebrate.

I was not in attendance at the February meeting, I was freezing in NC with my family.

Jill Pando and her son David came to see Lureen's photography.  Rob Myers and Patrice Marker also enjoyed the presentation. Pat Schwab, the club's most frequent guest, drove up to join in.  Acquaintances of Lureen, Connie, Cynthia, MaryAnn, Lynn and Cheryl,  were in attendance.

Winter has arrived in full force. Bundle up and stay safe if traveling.

I will surely miss long time member Carol. Keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Carol had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around.  I will always fondly remember our "Haunted Camping Trip" at Highland Hammock State Park.

There were no guests in attendance at the January general meeting. Hopefully that will change in upcoming months.
