Greetings from the Hospitality Hut,

Without a meeting in September, I look forward to meeting some guests at our October General Membership meeting.    

With October just around the corner, most of the country will be cooling down...but not Florida.  Our warm waters continue to lure divers in a southerly direction.  This gives us locals a great opportunity to keep our ears and eyes open for new member possibilities.

Just the other day, as I started my most recent vacation, I discovered that my limo driver was a diver.  It only took a brief conversation before he was telling me about how much he loved the sport.  I always keep a supply of USA Dive Club business cards with me so I handed one to him and hope to see him sometime in the future.

At the June general meeting of the Under Sea Adventurers Dive Club we had a wonderful dive presentation into COLD WATER diving.

Our speaker, Will Schrier, was accompanied by 3 guests who attended on ZOOM.  Thank you John,  Jordan and Ashley for your attendance.

Warm water is here!  We know our divers love warm water.  So now is the time to jump on in and join a local dive. I am sure the Blue Heron Bridge is very active regardless of the weather.

It was nice to see guest Pat S. at the May general meeting of the Under Sea Adventurers Dive Club.

We now have a very comfortable meeting room with a lot of space to social distance. Please consider joining us for the upcoming  June meeting. We still have ZOOM as an option and we have had excellent ZOOM presentations.

Remember to tell divers you meet, on local dive boats/shops, about our club and some of the great trips we take. Unfortunately COVID has hit many industries hard, including the dive industry, so it  is important that we support our local shops and boats.

I was happy to attend the April, in person, general meeting of the USA Dive Club.  It was wonderful to see so many happy familiar faces.  If you have not yet attended an in person meeting, please consider doing so.

No guests were in attendance, but I am sure as people venture out, that will change.

I would like to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all the great mothers in our club!  Remember your Mom on May 8th.

I wish you a Happy Easter and/or Passover.  It will be wonderful to share much needed time with family and friends.

I do not have any first-time guests to report for March.

Very good news, as already published, the club is able to resume monthly meetings at the Marriott Courtyard.  Members and guests can purchase a bite to eat and a favorite beverage at the Bistro.

Greetings From The Hospitality Hut,

I am happy to report 2 first-time guests attended the January, in-person, meeting of the USA Dive Club.

Erick Allen found our club from the Waterfront News.  He was certified in 1968 in Los Angeles.  Erick is a Master Scuba Diver and has logged over 1000 dives while treasure hunting, diving wrecks, taking underwater images and my favorite, drift diving.  Erick enjoys diving in Little Cayman and would like to visit the Galapagos Islands.

Wayne Sullivan discovered our club on the Internet.  Since 1963, as an instructor, Wayne has logged an extraordinary 15,000 dives.  His favorite dive site is the Cay Sal Bank.  Wayne is an underwater photographer.

Please be sure to welcome and introduce yourself to new members and guests when you see them, either in person or while attending a popular ZOOM meeting.

Happy New Year From The Hospitality Hut!  

                         

We have made it through some very challenging times and are about to turn the corner......if we continue to take precautions.

USA Dive Club member Ronnie, hosted a very successful Holiday Social Party at The Hampton Inn.

I would like to take this time to acknowledge several guests who were in attendance. Member Alison was accompanied by friend Nancy Widener.  Alison flew in from Oregon and her guest came up from Miami.  Several members have non-diving spouses/partners that are avid attendees of Social events. Roy attended with guest Mary Kay, member Jay had his lovely wife Carla on his arm and Alan escorted his charming wife Dawn. Guest John found us on the Internet.
